Introducing ACH Payments in InTempo Customer Portal

Credit card processing fees can cut into your hard-earned revenue. ACH lets you offer customers a more cost-effective – and less chargeback-prone – alternative. 

ACH payments through Curbstone are now available alongside standard credit and debit card payments in InTempo's Customer Portal. You get to offer customers another convenient way to pay for their rentals online, while simultaneously reducing your payment processing costs. 

Your customers log in and see a "pay invoices" option under their account: 

They then choose the invoice they'd like to pay and select ACH as the payment method. They enter their account information and authorize the payment; the information is then sent to the network. Standard ACH transactions settle within 1 to 3 business days.

Payment processing fees are a part of doing business - but they add up quickly. With InTempo's new ACH feature, we’re seeing rental businesses save 2-3% on their processing fees as processing the same payment on a credit card. For rental companies that process high-volume, high-dollar, primarily B2B transactions, the savings can be substantial.

ACH Payments Also Reduce Risk

ACH payments also come with a lower business risk. 

According to NACHA (the National Automated Clearinghouse Association, responsible for managing the ACH network in the United States), just 0.03 percent of ACH transactions are returned as unauthorized.

If an authorized return is opened, businesses also have an easier path to defending themselves from the claim, since customers must authorize the transfer directly from their bank account.
