InTempo MX: Leveraging the Value of Providing Machine Information to Your Rental Customers

Faith Kubicki Faith Kubicki

Construction contractors increasingly rely on rental equipment to supplement company-owned assets at their job sites. However, a supervisor managing dozens of assets across multiple job sites can quickly lose visibility of rented equipment. Knowing the precise location of each asset and its current operational status, as well as detecting unauthorized movement are crucial pieces of information for efficiently managing an equipment budget.

National equipment rental companies understand that information is value, and they set the competitive bar very high by providing machine information to their customers through customized web portals. InTempo MX helps independent rental companies close this competitive gap and deliver telematics data to their own customers as well – in real time and in alongside the rest of their critical rental data.

Give Your Customers the Information They Want

InTempo MX already manages the relationship between rental fleets and their customers. Recent product enhancements extend the InTempo MX Connected Assets capabilities to include an easy-to-use and easy-to-administer extension for rental customers to view equipment locations and operating statuses on a map.

How it Works

The rental company selects Auto-Rent Equipment on the InTempo MX customer profile.

Machine Telematics for Rental Customers

When equipment is associated with a contract, InTempo MX detects the activity and automatically creates a sub-account dedicated to that specific customer for data sharing purposes.

Through the InTempo MX portal, rental equipment customers are given access to machine information, including real-time location and machine utilization.

The rental company determines what information is shared with the customer. The customer will be able to see the equipment until the machine is returned.

InTempo MX Telematics Pass Down

Gain a Strategic Advantage

Obstacles that once made it difficult to share machine information with customers have been minimized. Technology has leveled the competitive landscape, empowering regional rental fleets to compete more effectively with national counterparts. InTempo MX plug-and-play telematics capabilities allow rental company employees to maintain focus on core activities: renting and servicing construction equipment. By helping customers achieve their business objectives, the rental company can transition themselves from vendor to strategic partner. Embracing this new role can significantly enhance mutual success and collaboration in the long term.
